Join the most rapidly growing side of the fashion world and use your talent with the practical parts of life to create a career in clothes.
Raffles gives you the unique opportunity to study at the intersection of business and fashion, so you can make your stylish instincts work for you.
Where can fashion marketing take you?
The fashion industry is known to be highly competitive. Raffles offers the only bachelor’s degree in fashion marketing – a course that can propel you right into the most prosperous part of it.
In the digital age, the fields of digital marketing and communications strategies are the most important, but you could find yourself working in a number of roles, including:
Public Relations Manager
Our graduates are often surprised by the number of career options they have at the end of their degree. We’re proud of them all – we have alumni working in PR and marketing at Prada Australia and David Jones, while others have started their own businesses inspired by their major projects.
What do employers look for in a fashion marketing graduate?
If you’re a creative researcher who understands creative process and business strategy, you’re well positioned for a career in this sector. Potential employers will be looking for portfolios which showcase skills in both areas – you’ll develop your own over the course of your Raffles degree.
Switch on your career in fashion marketing with industry experience
When you study a bachelor’s degree at Raffles, you’ll intern with one of our industry partners – because experience is essential for anyone who wants to work in this field. Often our students are offered graduate positions with our industry partners.
You’ll also attend industry seminars and events, and get hands-on practice with event management and PR for our graduate exhibitions, end-of-year fashion show, and Mercedes Fashion Week. Immerse yourself in the fashion and business worlds – sometimes it’s just the best way to learn.
Still unsure whether a career in fashion marketing is for you? Attend our free fashion marketing workshops running during the school holidays.
You’ll learn the basic foundations of fashion marketing from experts in the industry, and use them to develop and express your work in a clear way.
Through a mood board you’ll practice establishing a style, theme, environment or feeling, and choose an outfit or collection of pieces that fit within it. To round out the presentation of your ideas, you’ll create a profile for a designer or brand that features in your mood board.
