They say sight is the most dominant sense, and we live in a world that’s more visual than ever – so harness it. Develop your own creative personality, and make visuals your career
Where can graphic design take you?
A bachelor’s degree in graphic design will teach you conceptual thinking, creative problem solving, and the technical skills you need to use the latest, state-of-the-art software.
The professional life of a graphic designer is never stagnant. You’ll be designing a logo for a multinational company one day, a wine label the next morning, and an album cover after lunch. If your job title doesn’t end up being ‘Graphic Designer’, it might be something like one of these:
Advertising art director
Studio art director
What do employers look for in a graphic design graduate?
You’ll need bounteous enthusiasm, a lot of commitment and curiosity, heaps of passion, and the experience to use it all to design with flair and skill. Employers want strategic thinkers with a feel for the industry, which is why we constantly expose you to it.
Get real-world experience for your career in graphic design
Part of your bachelor’s degree at Raffles is a compulsory internship. We don’t think we can throw you into the deep end of the graphic design industry without first letting you test the waters. You’ll also attend industry events and seminars, and have guest lectures by professional designers and other insiders.
Still unsure whether a career in graphic design is for you? Attend our graphic design workshops running during the school holidays.
The graphic design workshop introduces you to the principles of design, exploring the role of colour, shape and form. You’ll get expert advice on portfolio preparation and create pieces in InDesign.
