Subject Description

Students will be exposed to history and theories of perception, cognition and communication. They will then apply these theories to design their own works. The aim is for students to be able to communicate to an audience effectively.

  • Colour Theory

  • Media

  • Visual Persuasion

  • Image Analysis

  • History of Written Language

 

Learning outcomes or Competencies

On successful completion of this unit, learners will be able to:

Articulate and discuss the major principles of perception, cognition.

Apply the principles of perception theories to the practice of visual communication.

Articulate and apply the principles of communication theories to the practice of visual communication.
