Subject Description

This subject explores principles and techniques fundamental to all animation. Through a combination of lectures, study of animated films, practical class exercises and working with different mediums students will learn to animate movement.


Animation is fun and students are encouraged to explore and play within their animation space.

 

Learning outcomes

  1. Recognise and apply animation principles across a range of media.

  2. Animate appropriate walk or run cycles.

  3. Animate believable lip sync.

  4. Produce a script, storyboards and an animatic.

  5. Design, plan and deliver a complete animated film within the limitations of a project brief and allocated time.
