Subject Description

In this subject, students will research, identify and apply foundational drawing skills and techniques; elements and principles of art and design; and colour theory.

 

Learning outcomes or Competencies

1. Understand and apply the elements and principles of design, colour theory and colour psychology to studio work

2. Analyse everyday objects and deconstruct the elements, principles and systems inherent in their construction

3. Understand and apply design principles to explore creativity

4. Communicate design solutions through hand-generated techniques and skills

5. Research and apply colour techniques to personal design concepts

Policy

Attendance: When a student's attendance falls below 80% without adequate explanation, their final mark will be automatically limited to, at best, a Pass.


Late submission: All work submitted after the submission deadline will be limited to a maximum of 50% and will not be accepted after the end of the study period unless special circumstances apply.
