Subject Description

The purpose of this module is to:

  • Introduce students to the methods and constraint of designing Commercial Interior Spaces

  • To research on Commercial and Retail space

  • To present design concept through 3d renders, working drawing documentations, material samples and oral presentation


Learning outcomes

1. Research, evaluate, organise and document information and communicate this visually and in

written form

2. Analyse commercial client brief and identify user needs and requirements

3. Design space allocation, using knowledge of ergonomics, circulation patterns and architectural


4. Produce required design documents and drawings, model of the space, material and colour selection to clearly communicate design proposal

5. Present design proposal for approval, critique and review
