Subject Description

The aim of Industry Portfolio is to consolidate and synthesize knowledge, skills, techniques and conceptual ability to develop a commercially viable, professional portfolio revealing an individual style.

To keep up to date with industry standards and trends, students are required to undertake research and are encouraged to attend relevant exhibitions and industry events. Discussions identify the roles and responsibilities of a professional photographer. Professional associations and suppliers will also be introduced.

In Part 1, students undertake thorough research, planning & testing in preparation for final shoots in Part 2. Test shoots are required so that students continue to refine their composition and lighting techniques and demonstrate a safe and professional photographic practice.

Informal presentations throughout both terms will allow students to develop their presentation skills, in preparation for formal presentations at the end of each term.
