Subject Description

Once limited to on-camera Press/Wedding/Event photography battery flash photography has had a stunning resurgence.

With the modern DSLR camera now providing instant image feedback via its LCD and the recent availability of improved and affordable, compact, battery-powered flash units (Speedlights) and reliable wireless flash triggering systems and a wide range of accessories location photography, once limited by the size of studio flash gear and the need for one or more assistants plus access to mains power or the use of generators, has been set free.

Initiated and driven largely by press photographers and the STROBIST MOVEMENT photographers can now create simple to complex location lighting set-ups quickly, easily and with relatively minimum expense. This has added yet another vital weapon to the armoury of the working professional photographer.
