Internships

All bachelor degrees offered by Raffles College of Design and Commerce include a compulsory internship component which connects our programs to the industry. Each department works with industry partners to offer exciting industry placements.

All internships are supervised by our Internship Coordinator, who liaises with the Workplace Supervisor.

This subject gives the student the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the industry and the Professional Association of their chosen discipline. The structured internship requires the learner to investigate selected workplaces, prepare professional job applications to promote themselves and undertake the challenge to formally negotiate with prospective host companies.

This in-service training under professional supervision in a professional environment will enhance and reinforce the students' knowledge and skills acquired during the course of study, and expose them to the ways that professionals deploy their knowledge. It provides the student with a unique opportunity to learn first hand about a specific area they think they may be interested in and at the same time exposes them to valuable Industry contacts.

At the end of the internship the student submits a written report and gives a professional presentation of their experience to prospective interns of the college. The subject consists of research, lectures and presentations and consultations. Assessment of this subject includes a company report written by the workplace supervisor in conjunction with the student and a written company analysis by the student.
