DesignThe design industry worldwide is growing at an amazing pace and the demand for well-qualified and well-trained professionals grows with it. Although it used to be enough to do a short vocational course to enter the design industry, the sophistication of design and the increased competition in the industry, means that graduates are now expected to have a minimum of a bachelor degree to enter the industry. Choose your area of interest: Animation - Design Management - Fashion Design - Fashion Marketing - Games Design - Graphic Design - Interior Design -Â Jewellery Design - Moving Image - Multimedia Design - Photography - Product Design Studying our degree programs gives you an education comprising both practical and theoretical elements. Learn not only how to build creative works, but also how to think like a designer. This is what is needed to launch you into the industry and put you on a career track.
CommerceThe world of business is ever more influenced by design, so it seems only natural that a design school should have an interest in commerce. After all, designers are business people and need to work with clients from a diverse range of fields. So who better to merge the two and specialise in business as it relates to design? Therefore, we've launched a Bachelor Degree in the field of commerce. Choose your area of interest: Design Management, Finance, Hospitality, Management, Marketing, Tourism
InternshipThe bachelor degrees all include a compulsory internship component which connects our programs to the industry. All internships are supervised by our Internship Coordinator, who liaises with the Workplace Supervisor. This subject gives the student the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the industry and the Professional Association of their chosen discipline. The structured internship requires the learner to investigate selected workplaces, prepare professional job applications to promote themselves and undertake the challenge to formally negotiate with prospective host companies. This in-service training under professional supervision in a professional environment will enhance and reinforce the students' knowledge and skills acquired during the course of study, and expose them to the ways that professionals deploy their knowledge. It provides the student with a unique opportunity to learn first hand about a specific area they think they may be interested in and at the same time exposes them to valuable Industry contacts. At the end of the internship the student submits a written report and gives a professional presentation of their experience to prospective interns of the college. The subject consists of research, lectures and presentations and consultations. Assessment of this subject includes a company report written by the workplace supervisor in conjunction with the student and a written company analysis by the student. |
