Application Information

Are the courses at Raffles accredited?
We may not have the word university in our name, but don’t let that deter you! Raffles College of Design and Commerce is accredited to deliver higher education and vocational courses. Your qualification from us is fully accredited and complies with all of the Australian Government's regulations.
Can I get credit for other studies I’ve done?
Sure can! If you are seeking credit or Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), you will need to submit an application and then provide the appropriate documentation, i.e. transcripts and a complete RPL form. One of our friendly staff members can help you through this process!
Are courses full-time or part-time?
We have both! Our students have the option each semester to change their study load if they wish. A full time student studies 3 – 4 subjects a semester where as a part time student studies 1 – 2 subjects.
What is the normal course timetable?
There are no standard timetables, but you can expect to be on campus (as a full time student) 3 days a week with approximately 16 classroom hours during those three days. All class hours are run between 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday.
Can I study by distance / correspondence?
Unfortunately, our courses are only available on campus. Luckily our campus is brand new and based in Parramatta so it is convenient and has awesome vibes!
What kinds of software/programs do you use?
What don’t we use? Here is a shortened list of programs that are accessible on campus: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, FinalCut Studio Pro, Dreamweaver, Maya, AutoCAD, Flash…
When do applications close?
We accept applications up until census date (two weeks into classes). However, we suggest that you complete your application at least one month prior to classes starting. It’s not ideal to miss any classes, so best to get it all in early! Go on, stop reading – start applying!
What is a portfolio/What if I don’t have one?
A portfolio is a collation of all your creative work. To apply for our Bachelor of Design or Bachelor of Arts (Visual Communication) you will need one. Not sure where to start? We have School Holiday Workshops that assist you in creating and developing a portfolio!
Are there any prerequisite subjects that I need to do in Year 12 if I want to do design?
Nope! We encourage you to undertake creative units, however this is not compulsory.
What type of job can I get after I finish my course?
Great question! We have collated all that information in one place for you on our website. Visit our careers page and take a look at what you could be doing in the very near future!
Are there any scholarships available?
Yes, we do. Our scholarships are only available to Australian Year 12 students. To find out more about how you can apply and the requirements, check out our scholarship page!
