Your dream workplace is colourful, light-filled, full of beautiful things: sketches of mannequins dressed in floaty pastels or bold patterns or tailored crisp monochrome, the thrum of sewing machines, rows of hangers holding clothes of your creation – there, soft silk meets cool leather meets fine, hand-stitched embroidery.
Discover a career in couture with fashion design at Raffles.
What will you learn?
Work hands-on and develop designs for a ready-to-wear collection, using digital and manual tools and techniques. We prepare you for an industry that’s demanding that you’re multi-skilled in these areas.
You’ll explore the garment-making process in full, building technical know-how in every stage, from concept to stitching, catwalk to selling. You’ll work with your collections through production and marketing – and showcase them at our end-of-year fashion show.
it’s for you if...
You get thrills running your hand over quality textiles, dream in vibrant colour, and keep up to date with global fashion trends and styles religiously.
You’re creative, and you’ve got an eye for beauty and aesthetic detail. You’re up for spending long hours bent over sewing machines, and you’re not afraid to get your hands pricked with needles.
At Raffles, we understand the importance of industry connections and portfolio building. In the fashion design department, we partner up with institution overseas to increase students' global mobility.

“Starting my course in fashion design at Raffles at the start of this year was pretty daunting, but I love the course and the challenges it presents. The small class sizes are ideal for creating connections with your lecturers and getting one-on-one assistance through every step of your projects. Having that assistance from people with real industry experience has been so incredibly helpful in developing my design ideas and skills in a way that is relevant to real industry practices, as well as being a massive benefit in the way of giving students access to a wealth of knowledge about industry connections and services relevant to your needs. The course is really rewarding and varied so I never feel like I’m doing something I’ve done before, and I’m excited for the challenges ahead as well as to see how much more my skills will grow.”

“Raffles has given me the skills to bring to life what I imagine.”
“Studying Fashion Design at Raffles opened up many opportunities to build my perfect career path. Being able to study at the prestigious university in Milan (Politecnico Di Milano), designing for RED Valentino, winning two TAWFA awards and finally launching my label GTAB at MBFWA. The three year bachelor enabled me to not only grasp the content of design but also implicate what I learnt in the industry on an international level.”
